The Transport department at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland are looking for a driver that can collect a small group of our animal management learners in a minibus to and from Dartmoor Zoological Park.
This is part-time role, working on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week on a term-time only basis. You would be required to collect our students from Duchy College in Stoke Climsland, leaving at 09:00 and taking them to Dartmoor Zoological Park. The return journey would be at 15:00, arriving back at Duchy College for 16:00.
As this is a new role, we have a variety of options available to consider and we would be open to discuss new ideas with the right candidate.
Split shifts:
Working 5 hours per day, transporting students from Duchy College to Dartmoor Zoo in the morning, and bringing them back in the afternoon.

Other duties in addition to driving:
We have the option for the right candidate to carry out admin/support work whilst at Dartmoor Zoological Park before the return journey. This would be based in and around our classrooms at the zoo. We would welcome conversations with candidates around this option and we would be happy to support development in this role (i.e. progression to a Learning Support Practitioner, etc.)
Candidates must have a clean and valid Driving Licence with PCV (Category D) entitlement and must be willing to complete all necessary College training for this role.
The ideal candidate will be reliable and trustworthy with suitable driving experience. An ability to work independently, using own initiative will be essential for this role as well an ability to communicate with a range of people.

Based at Bicton College, we are looking for an experienced individual to join the dynamic Equine Management teaching team. The role includes tutoring, teaching and assessing learners in a range of equine subjects both in the classroom and in a practical environment. We are focussed on a rich, rewarding and high-quality experience for our students. You will be responsible for the learner journey to ensure they are successful.
We are looking for candidates with a broad experience in the equine industry as well as experience in the class room delivering theory with a range of leaners. Ideally a science-based background would complement the team.
Equine based qualifications at degree level or above are required. A teaching qualification is desirable. It is essential to be willing to work towards a teaching qualification if one is not currently held. British Horse Society qualifications would be required in order to deliver some of the practical content.

A part-time position has become available for an Instructor to assist in the running of the Equestrian Centre, the facilitation of quality teaching to students and upholding the horse’s welfare within the Equine Department at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland.
The post holder will be required to take sole charge of groups of students in practical working sessions on the yard which may include weekends on a rota basis. Training and riding a variety horses is an essential requirement within this job role. Applicants need to have a can-do approach and willingness to contribute to our equestrian team in practice and promote the College through promotional events throughout the year.
Applicants must be qualified to BHS AI minimum, or hold UKCC qualification, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working in industry across a variety of horses in different disciplines. A full, clean driving licence and own transport is also essential.

We are looking for a multi-skilled, proactive person to join our Additional Learning Support (ALS) team to co-construct and monitor support provisions for a specific case load of learners. The role involves providing support for learners through the delivery of outstanding transition activities, including baseline assessment of needs which result in a demonstrable impact on progress. This will include holding person-centred Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews to help provide the best offer for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Training will be provided for this activity.

A position has become available for an Animal Care and Welfare Assistant at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland.
The successful applicant will be working alongside animal centre team members to promote health and husbandry of a variety of animal species. They will also gain an Animal Care qualification.
Applicants must have GCSE at grade 3 or functional skill Level 1 in both English and Maths and have some experience with a range of animals.
This position is on rolling rota to include weekends and holidays (one weekend in three approximately) so candidates must be able to meet the requirements of this rota. A full, clean driving licence and own transport is preferred.
